Zoofari 2017

This week we went to Auckland zoo on a Zoofari. We all slept in the old elephant house. It was cool but cold and when it went dark you could still see. We saw two cheetahs go for a morning walk around the zoo with their keepers.

I am working on an animal report about tigers and I saw about two or three of them in their cages! They were a bit bigger than I thought they would be. Did you know that a tiger can live up to about 20-26 years.

Multiplication facts

This year  we have a new system for daily multiplication practice. We have to answer 30 multiplication problems, 30 division problems and 8 fraction problems in 3 minutes. Here is the graph to show how I have been doing. We started off using really easy times tables like 2x,5x and 10x. But now we are using facts up to 9x.

I am at Level 3 Stage 6. I feel good but I need to keep learning because I still don’t know my 4x,6x,7x,8x,9x,11x and 12x tables.

Here is my basic facts progress for the year. In term 1 I was working on Stage 6 and I got a score of 45/60. In term 2, my basic facts score was 44/60.There is some tricky stuff in stage 6 but luckily there are some smart and helpful kids in Team Moana.
